We are delighted to report that Janet Fries has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Janet will continue her representation of authors, artists, art collectors, estates of artists, art organizations, musicians, filmmakers and producers in connection with contract negotiation and preparation, copyright and trademark protection and enforcement and related matters. Among other extracurricular commitments, Janet is active with the American Bar Association IP Section in the areas of copyright reform and artificial intelligence, an advisor on the Restatement of Copyright Law and Vice President of the Board of Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts. Janet herself is an accomplished editorial and fine art photographer. A collection of her portraits has just been published by Hemphill Artworks, and she is a Contributing Photographer to Getty Images.
